Shivam Arora shines on day of listless play

Pune, Dec 4 (UNI) Shivam Arora today staged a superb rally to conquer George Fernandes in a scorching three setter, finishing with a break of 47 with a flourish in the decider to see 147 Snooker Club get the better of Poona Goan Institute C' 2-1 in their Group B' and qualify for the knock out.

The PYC-ATC Snooker Challenge 2006 reached the last league stage tonight with most of the qualifiers from all the group expected from Group B' to be finalized.

The fine display put up by the seasoned campaigner provided the only silver lining, in otherwise listless group qualifying matches.

The pre-quarter finals with the best of five frames among the top 16 teams will commence from tomorrow.
