Separation of judiciary from executive gets cabinet nod
Itanagar, Dec 04 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh government here today approved the separation of the judiciary from executive.
The decision would be implemented phase-wise by creating immediate posts at functional district courts at Yupia and Bomdila for Papumpare and West Kameng districts respectively, sources said.
Talking to newsmen yesterday, government spokesman and Water Resources Minister Tako Dabi said the posts would be created as per judiciary norms subjected to availability of funds.
Earlier, Chief Minister Gegong Apang on the Independence Day had announced the decision to separate judiciary from the executive in view of the demands of the people.
He also declared that sessions court would be set up at Bomdila, Yupia, Alo, Tezu and Changlang in the first phase, sources said. Mr Dabi also informed that the cabinet has imposed a total ban on one-time lottery and housie.
He further said all the lotteries and housies organised by various festival committees and communities would come under the purview of the ban.
