Residents begin indefinite fast

Chennai, Dec 4 (UNI) Members of the struggle committee consisting of residents of suburbs Pammal, Anakapathur, Pozhichalur and Gow Bazzar today began an indefinite fast at suburb Pallavaram to protest against the proposed expansion of Chennai airport as it would displace them.

The fast was organised to drew the state government's attention to their pleas and to safeguard their interest.
