Polling officer suspended for campaigning for TRS

Karimnagar (Andhra Pradesh), Dec 4: A polling officer has been suspended for allegedly influencing voters at a polling booth in favour of Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) candidate K Chandrasekhara Rao in the Karimnagar Lok Sabha by-election today.

According to official sources here, the district Collector, who is also the the Electoral Authority, suspended the officer incharge of polling booth in Poodur village in Kodimyal mandal.

Based on a complaint from the other political parties, the Collector immediately suspended the officer from his duties.

Alternative arrangements were made for the smooth conduct of polls.
