Pappu Yadav's petition rejected
Patna, Dec 4 (UNI) A local court here today rejected the petition of RJD MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, presently lodged in Tihar Jail, New Delhi, in connection with the murder case of CPI(M) MLA Ajit Sarkar, for his shifting to Patna jail.
Through a petition before Additional District and Sessions Judge of Patna B M Srivastav, counsel of Yadav had prayed that the RJD MP be shifted to Patna as he had to produce defence witnesses in the case.
The prayer was opposed by the CBI.
After hearing both sides on December 2, the judge had reserved his order till today.
Rejecting the prayer, the court directed Yadav to seek relief in this connection from higher courts.
Yadav is currently lodged in Tihar jail on the directive of Supreme Court in connection with the case.
