Panchayat polls in 3 places tomorrow

Tirupati, Dec 4 (UNI) Elections to three Gram Panchayats in Tirupati Urban Mandal in Chittor District of Andhra Pradesh will be held tomorrow.

The elections were not held at the panchayats of M R Palli, Setty Palli and Timminaidu Palayam earlier this year along with other villages due to legal problems and non-completion of term.

However, as a precautionary measures, Section 144 was imposed in polling areas from today and would continue to up to Dec 6 evening, Tirupati DSP Rajaiah said.

Security arrangements had been made at all 120 polling booths for smooth conduct of panchayat polls, he added.
