Written by: Staff

New Delhi, Dec 4 (UNI) NDA members, including the BJP, walked out of the Lok Sabhna today as a CPI(M)'s Basudeb Acharia raised the issue of vandalism witnessed in the West Bengal Asssmbly by Trinmool Congress MLAs on the issue of allotment of cultivable land to Tatas for their plant in Singur.

Amid pandemonium, Mr Acharia condemned the vandalims in the West Bengal Assembly when, Trinmool Congress leader Mamta Banerjee entered the Assembly and provoked her party members.

During the attack, furniture was destroyed and MLAs attacked, resulting in their hospitalisation.

The vandalism was created in the very presence of Ms Banerjee, he said, terming it as an attack on a democratic institution and a "black day"for the country.

NDA members countered the allegation leveled by Mr Acharia saying the farmers protesting peacefully against acquisition of their land at cheap rates were subjected to police firing.

As Mr Acharia continued to level allegations against the Trinmool Congress leader, NDA members walked out of the Lok Sabha.
