Allahabad, Dec 4 (UNI) Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) today expelled Uttar Pradesh unit president of Chhatra LJP Arif Iqbal and general secretary Ravi Jaiswal for six years with immediate effect.

In a media release here, UP unit LJP president and former MP Shashi Prakash said the president of state women wing Neeta Sahu has also been removed from the post.

LJP took this action following the demonstration and damaging of property and burning of effigy at the house of Team India player Mohd Kaif by these office-bearers and other party workers.

Mr Prakash said their deed was against the LJP policies and principles and it would not be tolerated.

On the instruction of party national president Ram Vilas Paswan, the disciplinary action committee decided on the action against the three office-bearers, he added.

Besides, other party workers involved in the demonstration were also being identified and strict action would be taken against them.

Kaif's father has threatened to leave the city to protest the violent demonstration by LJP workers.
