Key blast witness turns hostile
Mumbai, Dec 4 (UNI) A BEST bus conductor, who was a key witness in the 2003 blasts that occurred at Seepz in Andheri in North West Mumbai, today turned hostile before the Special POTA Court.
While deposing before the special POTA court in the blasts case, the BEST conductor who had earlier identified the accused Ashrat S Ansari as the one who had planted gelatine sticks in the bus, categorically denied the statements he had given to the police in this regard.
The case is one among the three other bomb blast cases clubbed together--Ghatkopar, Gateway of India and Zaveri Bazar, and trial in the case is on in the special POTA court.
Six persons have been accused in these three cases, in which one of the accused turned an approver. The other accused are Ashrat S Ansari, Mohd Hanif Sayyed, Hassan Shaikh Batteriwala, Rizwan Ansari Laduwala and Fahmida Hanif Sayed.
