Kerala School Taekwondo Championship on December 6, 7

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 4 (UNI) The Third Kerala State School Taekwondo Championship will be held at the Central Stadium here on December 6 and 7.

More than 800 taekwondo marshal artistes in 58 weight categories representing 14 districts would take part in the two-day event, Taekwondo Association of Kerala general secretary Aji B told reporters here.

Competitions would be conducted in sub-junior, junior and senior sections, he said, adding that Taekwondo demonstration competitions would also be organised.

Talented Taekwondo artistes for participating the National School Taekwondo Championship, to be held in Mumbai, would be selected from the Championship, Mr Aji said.

The State Sports and Youth Affairs Department, General Education Department and Taekwondo Association are jointly conducting Taekwondo training in 42 schools in the state, he said.

Kerala Sports and Youth Affairs Minister M Vijayakumar will formally inaugurate the competition, he added.
