Indian duo rows to men's double scull semis

Doha, Dec 4 (UNI) The Indian rowing duo of Anil Kumar Mehrolia and Bajranglal Takhar won the Repechage to make it to the semifinals of the men's double sculls event at the Asian Games here today.

In Repechage 2, the Indians timed 3:53.91 ahead of Zohaib Zia Hashmi and Muhammad Akram (4:05.49) of Pakistan and Mohammad Sabti and Read Alfailakawi (4:52.16) of Kuwait.

The Indian pair clocked 1:54.59 in the first 500m but slowed down and timed 1:59.32 in the next half kilometer.

Yesterday, the Indians had timed 4:02.42 to finish third in the heat and move on to today's repechage.

The semifinal is scheduled for tomorrow at the West Bay Lagoon.
