Humpy bags first gold for India

Doha, Dec 4 (UNI) Grandmaster Koneru Humpy gave India its first Gold in the Doha Asian Games with the prodigious Karnataka woodpusher defeated Dana Aketayeva of Kazakhastan to finish on the top in the Women's rapid chess competition here today.

Humpy aggregated eight points in nine rounds for the golden glory. Women Gradmaster (7.5) Xue Zhao grabbed the Silver while Qatari Grandmaster Zhu Chen (6) took the Bronze.
