Haryana disburses 1,330 crore for paddy procurement
Chandigarh, Dec 4 (UNI) The Haryana government has disbursed Rs 1330.73 crore to the farmers for purchase of their 20.44 lakh metric tonnes (MTs) of paddy during this season so far.
Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan today said that Hafed had purchased 9.02 lakh MTs of paddy and made a payment of Rs 586.50 crore followed by Food and Supplies Department which had made the payment of Rs 394.51 crore for the purchase of their 6.07 lakh MTs of paddy.
He said the Haryana Agro Industries Corporation had purchased 2.44 lakh MTs of paddy and the farmers had been given a sum of Rs l60.23 crore while Confed had disbursed Rs 115.14 crore for purchasing 1.77 lakh MTs of paddy.
Haryana Warehousing Corporation paid Rs 67.14 crore for the purchase of 1.03 lakh MTs of paddy. He said that FCI also paid Rs 7.21 crore for the purchase of 0.11 lakh MTs of paddy.
He said the government had arranged cash credit limit to the tune of Rs 1,000 crore during the current kharif season while Rs 839 crore were arranged during the previous kharif season-2005.
