Germany says 6-party Iran talks to be on Tuesday
BERLIN, Dec 4 (Reuters) Diplomats from six major powers will hold talks on Iran's disputed nuclear programme tomorrow, a German government spokesman said today.
He declined to say where the meeting would take place.
''I can confirm there will be a meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, of the ''(EU)-Three plus three (countries)'' and it will be at political directors' level,'' the foreign ministry spokesman told a regular news conference.
The six parties involved are United Nations Security Council permanent members Russia, China, France, Britain and the United States, plus Germany.
They are trying to agree how to deal with Iran's failure to heed UN demands that it should stop uranium enrichment.
The six are struggling to draft a U.N. Security Council resolution, but Moscow wants to avoid sanctions as strong as those favoured by Washington and European countries, which accuse Iran of seeking the technology to build a nuclear bomb.
Tehran says its programme is peaceful.
