Fog disrupts train services in Punjab

Jalandhar, Dec 4 (UNI) The train traffic on the busy Amritsar-Delhi and Jammu-Delhi rail routes was affected adversely due to fog as several long-distance trains were running two to five hours behind the schedule.

A railway spokesman told UNI here that Amritsar bound 5707 Katihar-Amritsar Express was delayed by five hours where as 8101 Tata Nagar-Jammu Murrie Express was late by four hours and 3049 Howrah-Amritsar Express and 2919 Indore-Jammu Malwa Express were running two hours behind the schedule.

Meanwhile, mild rains and cloudy weather conditions caused sudden rise in the minimum temperatures at various places but day temperatures remained at low.

An official spokesman quoting Air Force Met Centre data, said that night temperature which was hovering around three degree Celsius at the Jalandhar's Adampur Airport three days ago rose to 11.8 degree Celsius this morning.
