New Delhi, Dec 4 (UNI) NDA Convenor George Fernandes today left for Kolkata to join the protests against acquisition of land for Tata Motors' plant at Singur by Left government in West Bengal.

NDA sources said that Mr Fernandes had left to join the Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee-led agitation after the news of arrest of BJP President Rajnath Singh even as BJP members held noicy protests in both Houses of Parliament.

The Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day after two adjournments did not cool off the temperature of the opposition with the BJP MPs vociferously protesting against the ''dictatorial attitude'' of the Communist ruled state which was acting as an ''agent of capitalists''.
