Ernakulam reigns in Kerala School Games

Palakkad, Dec 4 (UNI) Ernakulam District proved their domination in the track and field by clinching 201 points in the 50th Kerala School Games here on the penultimate day today.

K M Meeshma of Parli High School, Palakkad created a new state record in three-km walk in the junior girls section.

She covered the distance in 15.03 minutes, erasing the old record of 15.04 minutes.

Yesterday in senior boys section, K Ranjit of Sai HS Kozhikode created a new meet record in Shot Put, throwing the iron ball to a distance of 12.71 metres.

The closing ceremony of the 50th Kerala School Games and Athletics will be held tomorrow.

Sports Minister P Vijayakumar will preside over the valedictory function and Electricity Minister A K Balan will participate in the closing ceremony.
