Engine failure disrupts train traffic on Amritsar-Delhi route
Jalandhar, Dec 4 (UNI) Train traffic on the upline tracks on Amritsar-Delhi and Jammu-Delhi routes remained disrupted for two and a half hours this morning following engine failure of a goods train near the Ludhiana railway station.
Several long distance trains, including Amritsar-Delhi Shatabdi Express, remained stranded at various places between Ludhiana and Jalandhar, a railway spokesman told UNI here.
The Amritsar-Delhi Shatabdi Express remained stranded for one hour and 40 minutes at Ladowali station in Ludhiana district, the Amritsar-Ambala Passenger train for two and a half hours near Ladowali and the Amritsar-Nanded Sachchkhand Express for 40 minutes at Philluar.
The engine of a goods train developed snag at the out signal post near Ludhiana Railway station around 0530 hours this morning blocking the upline tracks on the busy routes.
However, train traffic was resumed around 0800 hours after the engine of the goods train was replaced.
