Elections in MP urban bodies on Dec 27

Bhopal, Dec 4 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Election Commission today notified general and byelection on December 27 to fill up posts of chairmen and councillors in different urban bodies.

Filing of nominations, which opened today, would conclude on December 11 and scrutiny will take place on December 12. Last date for withdrawal of nominations is December 14, when the list of candidates would be prepared and symbols allotted.

Polling will be held from 0700 hours to 1700 hours on December 27 and result declared on December 29.

General election will be held for the post of chairman and 18 councillors of Pasaan municipal council in Anuppur district, chairman and 15 members of Amarkantak Town Panchayat and the chairman and 15 members of Mandu Town Panchayat in Dhar district.

Besides, byelections will be held for the post of chairman of Nagda municipal council in Ujjain district and Baikunthpur town panchayat in Rewa district, besides a total of 28 ward members of 3 three municipal corporations, 4 municipal councils and 17 town panchayats.
