Distribute pensions to beneficiaries by Dec 20: Mulayam

Lucknow, Dec 4 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today directed official to distribute cheques of widow, handicapped, farmers and old age pensioners, besides, scholarships to eligible students and the left-out beneficiaries of Kanya Vidya Dhan Yojna and unemployment allowance, at any cost by December 20.

Mr Yadav instructed that special camps be organised for the distribution of cheques and responsibility would be fixed on the concerning officers, if any slackness or carelessness was found in this regard.

The Chief Minister was reviewing the development works with all the district magistrates, commissioners and senior officers here.

He directed the speeding up of the developmental works and sowing of Rabi crop, de-silting of canals, availability of fertilizers and seeds should be ensured at priority basis, so that farmers do not face any difficulty in this regard.

Mr Yadav said iron, cement and fertilizers were being sent to Bihar illegally and effective steps should be taken to curb it.

He directed the DMs to sit in their offices daily from 1000 hrs to 1200 hrs for redressal of people's grievances and solving their problems.
