Ceat radial tyre capacity increases to 65,000
New Delhi, Dec 4 (UNI) As part of its aggressive growth plans, Ceat Ltd today rolled out the first batch of radial tyres from its newly commissioned expanded facility at Nashik increasing its radial tyre production capacity to 65,000.
As a move to cater to domestic and export markets, the Nashik plant will be rolling out 65,000 passenger tyres per month from the current production capacity of around 40,000 radial tyres.
The company has planned a phased increase of its car radial capacity to about 2,50,000 tyres a month from 40,000 over four years.
This project is likely to cost Rs 25-50 crore per year. It will utiliSe part of the proceeds of their 10 million dollars worth of external commercial borrowings to enhance radial capacity in its Nashik plant from 40,000 tyres to 1,00,000 tyres per month in two phases.
The enhancement will largely be in passenger car and utility vehicle radials and also some OTR sizes, a statement said.
Having achieved the target of 65,000 passenger car radials in the first phase, Ceat now plans to increase production capacity to 1,00,000 tyres by the end of the next phase.
