Bypoll: Polling starts on dull note
Hyderabad, Dec 4: Voting for the bypolls to the Bobbili and Karimnagar Lok Sabha seats began on a dull note due to cold climatic conditions here today.
The Karimnagar bypoll was necessitated by the resignation of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief K Chandrasekahara Rao while in Bobbili it was due to the death of TDP MP K Pydithalli Naidu.
In the first two hours of polling, which started at 0700 hrs, only ten per cent votes were polled.
In Karimnagar, both the TDP candidate L Ramana and Congress candidate T Jeevan Reddy cast their votes at Jagityal. Both expressed confidence of winning the bypoll.
In Bobbili, where Marketing Minister Bothsa Satyanarayana's wife Jhani is the Congress candidate, long queues of voters were seen in the Cheepurupalli segment of the constituency represented by Bothsa.
Polling has been peaceful so far.
