Assembly pays tributes to Bismillah Khan, Bharde

Nagpur, Dec 4 (UNI) The Maharashtra Legislative Assembly today paid tributes to shehnai maestro Ustad Bismillah Khan, former speaker Balasaheb Bharde and several former members of the House.

Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh moved the condolence motion, which was seconded by Leader of the Opposition Ramdas Kadam. Speaker Babasaheb Kupekar paid rich tributes to the departed souls.

Besides Khan and Bharde, the motion condoled the deaths of former ministers Shankar Bajirao Patil, Keshav Sitaram Sonawane and Ali Hasan Mamdani and former members Sayyed Ahmed Amin, Bahu Sakaru Agh, Namdeo Narayan Kale, Madhav Narayan Bhalavi, Yadavrao Punjaji Shikhare, Ambaji Tukaram Patil, Sahebrao Madhavrao Satkar, Jalamsingh Supdusingh Ingale, Vinita Datta Samant, Kesharbai Sonaji Kshirsagar, Shivaji Ramchandra Gotad, Madhavrao Tulshiram Dalal, Nurullah Bismillah Khan, Bapusaheb Chandrasen Kamble, Dinanath Gajanan Kamat, Shyamkant Damodar More, Jayant Krishnamurari Katakwar and Ramchandra Devkaji Pawar.

The members observed silence for two minutes as a mark of respect to the departed souls.
