55 per cent polling in Dungarpur

Jaipur, Dec 4 (UNI) In the Dungarpur Assembly (ST) seat in Rajasthan reported 55 per cent polling in the by-election held today.

The polling which drew to a close at 1700 hrs was held peacefully without any untoward incident reported in this predominantly tribal belt of the state. Fifty five per cent of the 58,628 strong electorate exercised their franchise.

The by-election was nesseciated by the demise of six- time Congress MLA Nathuram Ahari. The fight is mainly between the Congress'Punjilal Parmar and BJP candidate Surmal Parmar though an independent candidate is also in the fray.
