44 per cent polling in Dungarpur seat by 1500 hrs

Jaipur, Dec 4 (UNI) The Dungarpur Assembly(ST) seat in Rajasthan where by-election is held today reported 44 per cent polling by 1500 hrs.

The polling is progressing peacefully in the constituency in the predominantly tribal belt of the state.

Fourty four per cent of the 58,628 voters exercised their franchise by 1500 hrs .

The by election was necesitated by the demise of six-time Congress MLA Nathuram Ahari. The fight is mainly between the Congress Punjilal Parmar and BJP candidate Surmal Parmar though an independent candidate is also in the fray.
