35 per cent polling in Pandhana bypoll

Bhopal, Dec 4 (UNI) About 35 per cent of the 1.56 lakh voters exercised their franchise till 1400 hrs today in the Assembly byelection in Pandhana constituency in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh.

Polling was progressing peacefully amid tight security with para military forces assisting the district police, official sources said.

The by-election was caused due to the murder of sitting BJP MLA Kishorilal Verma. His son Devendra Verma(BJP), Hiralal Silawat (Congress), Vasudeo Atoot (Bhartiya Jan Shakti), Navneet Gajbhiye (Gondwana Gantantra Party) and Umashankar Varma (Ind) were in the fray.
