3 booked for registering sale deed in dead man's name
Phagwara, Dec 4 (UNI) A former sarpanch was among three people booked for getting a sale deed registered in the name of a 'dead man.
The state Intelligence Department, which looked into the case, found that Tarsem Lal, a former sarpanch of Paddi Jagir village near Goraya, had presented somebody else who posed as late Amar Dass and got 2 kanal and 4 marla land registered in the name of his son Dhanveer Lakha on June 2, 2006.
A nambardar and Tarsem Lal became the witness in the deed registration but when the deal caused a controversy in the neighbourhood, the land was again registered on July 6, 2006, in the name of the dead man, Amar Dass.
Those who have been booked include Tarsem Lal, his son Dhanveer Lakha and a deed writer Ashwini Kumar.
