Williams hits maiden fifty against Bangladesh

BOGRA, Bangladesh, Dec 3 (Reuters) Sean Williams hit his maiden half-century (61) to help Zimbabwe score 217 runs for seven wickets in 50 overs against Bangladesh in the second one-day international today.

Williams hit four fours and a six in his 70-ball innings before being trapped lbw by spinner Mohammad Rafique.

Zimbabwe, put into bat after losing the toss, got off to a shaky start in the day-night match when Brendan Taylor (1) was caught at third-man by Mashrafe Mortaza off pacer Shahadat Hossain in the second over.

Opener Stuart Matsikenyeri (25) and Chamu Chibhabha (31) steadied proceedings with a partnership of 49 and Hamilton Masakadza contributed with 41.

There were two wickets apiece for Marshrafe Mortaza and spinners Rafique and Saqibul Hasan.

Bangladesh lead the five-match series 1-0.
