VHP not to allow Haj House at Sanganeer: Singhal

Jaipur, Dec 3: Clearing the confusion over the proposed building of the Haj House at Sanganeer, Vishwa Hindu Parishad international president Ashok Singhal here today said the outfit will not allow the construction at any cost.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Singhal in reply to a question emphatically ruled out the construction saying, ''The VHP will not allow the building of the Haj House at Sanganeer at any cost.'' On the 'lip-locking' controversy involving Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, the VHP leader alleged that, ''An international conspiracy is on to malign leaders and places associated with the 'Hindu Astha'''.

When asked how could the Chief Minister be part of 'Hindu Astha', Mr Sinhal said, ''Being the CM, Ms Raje is the 'king' of the state and people look upon her as a role model.'' The VHP leader lauded the Vasundhara Raje government's initiatives on anti-conversion Bill and cow slaughter.

About the construction of the Ram Temple, Mr Singhal said the temple would be constructed at Ayodhya as per the original plan by the Ramjanmabhumi Nyas.

He said 'Hindus' have been waging a ''freedom struggle'' to liberate the country from the clutches of 15 per cent minorities who were controlling the political levers of power in the country with the ''so-called secular parties practising minority appeasement for votes''.

Dwarka Sankaracharya Swami Swaroopanad's proposal for the construction of the Ram Temple on Cambodian model was a ploy to divide Hindu society, he alleged and added, ''the Swami is a Congress sympathiser and he is not going to succeed in his plan.''
