UP minister rubbishes Sachar Committee report

Sultanpur, Dec 3 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Family Welfare Minister and senior Samajwadi Party leader Ahmed Hasan today alleged recommendations made by the Centre in the Sachar Committee report would remain on papers only.

Talking to Newspersons here, Mr Sahan alleged ''the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre believes only in constituting commissions and not implementing the recommendations made by them. Shri Krishna Commission, which was constituted by the Centre to investigate in the Maliyana case, Meerut is one of them.'' ''We will aware the Muslims not to be flattered by the report as Congress has a distinction of breaking vows like it did in the Ayodhya demolition and minority status of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU),'' he alleged.

There is nothing new in the Sacchar report as everyone knows the actual condition of the Muslims in the country and if the Centre is really concerned about the community, it should amend the constitution to give special benefits to them so that they can be educationally and socially uplifted, he maintained.

Unani Ayurvedic Commission, Higher Education Commission and other commissions constituted by SP have a Muslim president as the party practices what it preaches, Mr Suhan added.

He alleged ''at present, Muslims are facing harrasment only in the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress ruled states.'' UNI XC-ATI SHB RK1920
