Threat to blow Moradabad railway station
Lucknow, Dec 3: Security has been beefed up in the state after Railway authorities in Moradabad received an anonymous letter threatening to blow up the railway station and Sangh offices on December 6, the 14th anniversary of demolition of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya.
GRP sources said here that Moradabad station master Ram Gopal received a letter yesterday threatening to blow up the station and a bridge built on Laksar by-pass on December 6. The letter also threatened to target Roadways buses on the same day.
Though sources said the authorities were treating the letter as a prank, security has been beefed up at various railway stations across the state.
The letter states that offices of Bajrang Dal, Shiv Sena and VHP would also be targetted on the day.
This is for the second time the station master of Moradabad railway station has received a similar letter.
On earlier occasions, threat letters have been received at the Charbagh railway station here and Chitrakoot railway station.
Meerut, Muzzafarnagar, Bulandshahr and Aligarh railway station officials have also received threat letters in the recent past.
In some of the cases, the culprits have been arrested.
