ADELAIDE, Dec 3 (Reuters) Sri Lanka's tour match against Otago fizzled out into a draw after rain and bad light forced an early end to play today.

Sri Lanka set Otago 541 to win after declaring their second innings closed on 404 for four on the final day at Dunedin in New Zealand.

Otago were 46 for two when the weather turned foul and the players left the field before the scheduled tea. The match was called off 40 minutes later when the rain got heavier.

Sri Lanka had resumed on 240 for two and piled on 164 for the loss of two more wickets with captain Mahela Jayawardene (67) and Tillakaratne Dilshan (67 not out) completing half-centuries.

Sri Lanka's players head to Christchurch tomorrow to prepare for the first test starting on Thursday. The second test begins in Wellington on Dec. 15.

Sri Lanka are also due to play two Twenty20 matches and five one-day internationals on the six-week tour.
