Srinagar, Dec 3 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Vigilance Organisation has filed a charge-sheet against six officials, including an executive engineer.

A vigilance spokesman said the charge-sheet was filed against Abdul Hamid Khan, the then executive engineer, Syed Hussain, head assistant, Ali Mohammed Sofi, assistant accounts officer, Ali Mohammad Wani, orderly (beneficiary), Khursheed Alam Bhat, orderly (beneficiary) and Mohammed Shafi Khan (beneficiary) in the court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Srinagar.

The accused illegally promoted the three orderlies to the post of works supervisors and gauge reader in the flood channel at Narbal in Badgam district, he added.

The spokesman said the then executive was not the competent authority to issue such orders.

The engineer misused his official position and conferred undue benefits to the orderlies, he added.
