Rule of law will led to development: Nitish

Patna, Dec 3 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today lauded the efforts of police in improving the law and order situation and exhorted them to establish the rule of law the state's overall development.

Addressing the annual prize distribution function of the state police here, Mr Kumar said police had worked hard to improve the law and order situation and gain back the people's confidence.

People have changed their point of view regarding the police and this is the reason that the court have been able to dispose off 5000 pending cases in one year, he said.

''Those who had migrated were coming back with several developmental plans and the credit goes to the police,'' he said adding that the police will have to maintain its image and create condusive atmosphere so that the people feel more safe and secured.

He also praised the state vigilance bureau for their commendable job in the anti-corruption drive and added that all are equal in the eyes of law.

He said the bureau had been given additional powers with a special unit to deal with the cases related to disproportionate assets.

The chief minister awarded 611 people inclduing 554 police personnel for their contribution in improving law and order on the occassion.
