Rail traffic on Jalandhar-Pathankot section disrupted for an hour

Phagwara, Dec 3 (UNI) Up and Down line rail traffic on Jalandhar-Pathankot section remained suspended for more than an hour due to two different incidents today.

Railway sources, while confirming the disruption of rail traffic told UNI here this afternoon that Down-line railway traffic on Pathankot-Jalandhar rail section remained distrupted for an hour, when the engine of Delhi-bound 2920 Dn Malwa Express, failed near Dasuya Railway Station at 1135 hrs and the train could proceed for its destination with a new engine at 1240 hrs.

In the second incident, the Up-line rail traffic remained suspended, when a sugarcane loaded tractor-trolley a broke down in middle of a manned railway crossing between Mukerian and Bungala at about 810 hrs.

Meanwhile, Pathankot bound 3151 Up Sialdeh Express remained stranded at Mukerian railway station while 1077 Up Jhelam Express was stationed outside Mukerian railway station for more than 40 mintues.

Later, the tractor trolley was pulled out with the help of another vehicle and railway traffic was restored.
