Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam activists arrested

Puducherry, Dec 3: As many as 83 volunteers of various organisations, including Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam and Tamizhar Desiya Iyyakkam, were arrested when they attempted to picket a Jain temple here today.

Police said the agitation was organised to protest against a Jain priest, who allegedly walked nude.

The priest was here in town to perform the Kumbabishegam at the Jain temple.
