Opium plants worth Rs one crore destroyed
Agartala, Dec 3 (UNI) The Tripura Excise department today said they have destroyed opium plants worth Rs one crore at various places near here as a part of anti-ganja drive.
The West District Excise and Custom officials in a joint operation destroyed the opium plants cultivated in about eight acres of land at Teliamura, and Kamala sagar area, close to Bangladesh border, sources said.
The BSF also extended their help in the operation during the last two days, sources added.
The officials have also added that such drive would continue in different parts of the state to check the culvation of such illegal.
