NARL inks pact with Space Research Centres of US
Tirupati, Dec 3 (UNI) National Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL) have inked a pact with the Space Research Centres of the US, France and Japan for joint studies on aerosols, climatology of cirrus clouds and development of doppler lidars to measure wind velocities.
According to NARL Director D Narayana Rao the signing was held here during the recent two-day visit to the laboratory by a 3-member team of space scientists from NASA US, and one each from France and Japan.
Mr Rao said scientists from the three nations were invited by the organisation for deliberations on exploring the possibility of taking up collaborative projects, particularly in the field of atmospheric studies and reached consensus between the two groups on all matters of mutual interest, including the launching of space-borne lidar.
