Man nabbed for wife's murder

Akola, Dec 3 (UNI) A man was today arrested on the charge of murdering his young wife at village Kumbhari, near here.

Police said Vittal Rokde and his wife Pratibha were married for several years. However, a marital discord between them had caused Pratibha to live with her parents in a nearby Vyala village.

However, after a compromise with his in-laws, Vittal took her home yesterday. While they were walking towards the village, Vittal in a fit of rage fell his wife down and allegedly strangulated her.

The couple has a minor daughter.

Following the incident, Vittal surrendered before them and was held under section 302 of IPC, police added.
