Israel Deputy PM arrives tomorrow on a 4-day visit

New Delhi, Dec 3 (UNI) Israel Deputy Prime Minister Eliyahu Yishai will arrive here tomorrow for a four-day visit with a delegation of 50 entrepreneurs.

Mr Yishai, who is also the Israel Minister of Industry, Trade and Labour, will hold meetings with Union Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath and other dignataries, to further enhance the bilateral ties between the two sides.

He will also attend three seminars in the national capital, Mumbai and Vadodara.

The minister will be accompanied by Director General in the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labour Gavriel Maimon, Chairman of Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute David Arzi, who will be heading the business delegation, and prominent business personalities from diverse fiels including IT, logistics, irrigation, infrastructure, agro technology, defence and security, and medicine.

The tour follows Mr Nath's visit to Israel this November during which a Joint Study Group (JSG) was established in order to take the bilateral trade to five billion dollars by 2008.

India and Israel enjoy most favoured nation status and have a wide array of economic agreements and MoUs.

During the first nine months of the current fiscal, bilateral trade between Israel and India has touched 1.9-billion-dollar mark.

In 2005, the trade was to the tune of 2.4 billion dollars, showing a 10 per cent increase in comparison to 2004.
