Haryana to construct mini stadia in rural areas

Chandigarh, Dec 3 (UNI) Haryana government has decided to construct mini stadia in the rural areas with a view to promote sports in a big way in the state and as many as 135 stadiums would be constructed in the rural areas.

This was revealed by the Member of Parliament from Rohtak Deepender Singh Hooda while speaking on the closing ceremony of 35th Haryana State-level Handball Tournament organized in memory of martyr Jasbir Singh.

Mr Hooda maintained that there was no dearth of sports talent in the rural areas. He said that it was the need of the hour that they they should be guided properly so that they could excel in the sports arena.

He asserted that the players of the state were capable to bring laurels for the state not only at the national level but on the international level also. A colourful cultural programme was also presented by the students of school and he announced a grant of Rs 11,000 to the students.
