'Govt must introduce Tamil as official language'
Thanjavur (Tamil Nadu), Dec 3: It is the duty of state government to provide the necessary facilities for introducing Tamil as the official language of High Court, Madras High Court Chief Justice A P Shah said.
Inaugurating the Legal Aid Centre (Law Assistance Centre) building at cost of Rs 21 lakh in district court complex here yesterday said the court had been computerised now and Tamil software would be necessary in the future. Introduction of Tamil should not be viewed as an emotional or political decision, he added.
He said necessary preparations should be made before introducing Tamil as the official language.
