Govindaraja Mills bags CII 5S award

Chennai, Dec 3 (UNI) The Aruppukottai-based Sri Govindaraja Mills has won the CII-Intimate Fashions 5S Excellence Award for this year.

Over 20 companies across the Southern Region participated in the award, a CII release said today.

The CII instituted the "5S" Excellence Award alongwith Intimate Fashions India Private Limited last year. The importance of 5S--a Japanese Concept of House Keeping and Orderliness which improves productivity and performance of an organization, has been realized and was picking up tremendously.

Mr John Chiramel, Country Director, MAS Holdings - the largest Textile and Apparel Manufacturer in South Asia insisted that Discipline, Team Work, Change Management, Culture Building were facilitated directly by 5S initiatives in the organization.

Intimate Fashion as a Model 5S Company hopes that our nation adopts 5S, so that our streets look like that streets in Singapore and Sweden.

Through these joint initiatives, CII-Intimate Fashions hopes that more and more corporates take up 5S practices in their organization to sustain competition through improved Quality and Productivity.
