Goods train derails in Bihar, paralyses traffic

Katihar, Dec 3 (UNI) Train services were paralysed on Barsoi-Kuteshwar section of Katihar division of North Frontier Railway following derailment of a Guwahati bound goods train.

NFR sources said that four bogies of the goods train ladden with cement got derailed this afternoon blocking the down line.

The derailment affected the movement of the 2423 up Guwahati-New Delhi Rajdhani express and the 4083 up Alipurdwar-Delhi Mahananda express. They were stranded at Barsoi while the 5610 down Awadh-Asom express was detained at Katihar.

Routes of some other trains had been diverted. The traffic was expected to resume by late this evening.
