EC issues notices to 32 government officials
Bilaspur, Dec 3 (UNI) The Election Commission (EC) has issued notice to 32 government officials on a complaint regarding the violation of the Model Code of Conduct following announcement of assembly by-elections in the Kota constituency in Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur district and sought reply by December 4.
The Congress had complained to the EC that these government officials had taken part in a meeting held at Mastoori block office by Chhattisgarh Health Minister Krishnamurthy Bandhi on November 10 after poll code came into effect.
The EC had ordered an investigation into the complaints and served notices to 32 government officials, including district panchayat CEO Siddarth Komal Pardeshi and the Sub-Divisional Officer.
Besides, the EC issued notices to eight panchayat representatives for taking part in the same meeting.
