Conspiracy behind Kanpur incident: Mulayam

Lucknow, Dec 3 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today said there was an element of conspiracy behind the Tuesday's desecration of Dr Ambedkar's statue in Kanpur.

After attending a function here, the Samajwadi Party supremo said some forces were conspiring to divide the society but all their efforts would be countered by the state Government.

Former Defence Minister added even though the state government has made its recommendation to the Election Commission to hold elections in February, the Opposition was not interested in it.

He claimed, ''law and order situation in UP was far better than the other 32 states of the country.'' He alleged that ''Law and order situation in Delhi, which has become a rape capital, was a matter of great concern.'' UNI ATI PK DB2049
