Blast rocks southern Afghan city, cause unclear

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, Dec 3 (Reuters) An explosion shook the city of Kandahar in southern Afghanistan today but it was unclear what caused the blast and whether there were casualties, witnesses said.

The incident occurred near a base used by foreign troops, the frequent target of attacks by Taliban militants this year.
