Three Indians injured in Bhutan blast
Siliguri, Dec 2 (UNI) Three Indians were seriously wounded in a blast at Phuntsheling in Bhutan today.
The victims --Promod Basfor, Ramnath Basfor and Raman Basfor-- were brought to the Army Hospital at Binaguri in Jalpaiguri district, police said.
The blast took place this morning when the three brothers were busy clearing garbage near the building of Bhutan Government Road Safety Transport Department, some 200 metres from the Indian border.
They worked as sweepers in the Royal Bhutan Government, sources here said.
Royal Bhutan Army and Royal Bhutan Police sealed roads and other possible escape routes.
Bhutan Communist Party Marxist Lenninist (Maoist) is suspected to be behind the blast.
North Bengal Inspector General of Police Kishan Lal Meena said all police stations in the area have been alerted and borders sealed as a precautionary measure.
He told UNI though the incident happened in Bhutan, '' We are keeping close watch on the border areas.'' North Bengal has been on alert since the November 20 train blast in which eight people were killed in Jalpaiuri district.
