Tanker smuggling petroleum impounded in Puducherry

Puducherry, Dec 2 (UNI) Puducherry Food Cell police today impounded a tanker containing 1,000 litres of diesel and 4,000 litres of petrol being smuggled out from here.

The food cell police during a routine patrolling intercepted the tanker. On examination, they found the fuel hidden in two separate chambers. They seized the petrol and diesel worth Rs five lakh and also impounded the tanker worth Rs five lakh, police said.

Three persons, including the tanker driver Mohan were arrested.
