Shalinitai Patil demands action against miscreants
Mumbai, Dec 2 (UNI) Expelled NCP MLA Shalinitai Patil today asked Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil to take firm action against the people responsible for destroying property worth Rs 100 crore in the state in last two days following the desecration of the statue of Dr B R Ambedkar in Kanpur.
In a release issued here, Ms Patil, wife of former Chief Minister late Vasantdada Patil said, ''If the Deputy Chief Minister who is the Home Minister can not handle his duty properly, then he should resign''.
Ms Patil, who was an NCP MLA since 1999, was expelled recently by the party for her anti-reservation stand.
Describing the desecration as an unfortunate incident, she wondered why there were protests in Maharashtra only.
